Alex Bolek

Alex Bolek is ICMDA’s Africa Coordinator and has been ICMDA East Africa Regional Secretary from 2017 to 2025. Alex is the chairman of South Sudan Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA-SS). For over fifteen (15) years, Alex has worked with both Sudan and South Sudan Ministries of Health (MOH) and international NGOs, like Jhpiego, Healthnet TPO, and Saint Vincent De Paul Humanitarian Society in different leadership and technical roles implementing public health and humanitarian programs. Alex is on boards of a number of Christian organisations such as the Scripture Union of South Sudan (SUSS), Fellowship of Christian University Students (FOCUS), ACORD, Deo Volente (USA), Life In Abundance (LIA) and others. Alex is an alumnus of both Haggai International (HI) Leadership Institute (Singapore, 2006) and John Maxwell Million Leaders Mandate (Cyprus, 2016). Alex has co-authored four (4) books, three (3) with Rev. Colin Salter (UK) and one (1) with other fellow South Sudanese writers. Alex is a frequent contributor with articles in local newspapers writing on political, socio-economic, developmental, contemporary and spiritual issues. Alex is a frequent speaker in national, regional and international conferences, training seminars and workshops. Alex and his wife Helen founded Timothy School in 2016, a community Christian faith-based school in their community in South Sudan to meet educational needs of many children who would not find education. Alex and his wife Helen in 2022 founded the Rock City Medical Centre (RCMC) in Juba, to provide health and medical services to disadvantaged communities affected by chronic civil wars and conflicts. Alex and his family live in Juba, South Sudan, and are members of Shabakat al Baraka Church Ministry.
