Dr. Annelies Wilder-Smith is Executive Secretary of the WHO SAGE Secretariat for Immunization Policies. She is an Honorary Professor of Emerging Infectious Diseases at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Past President of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM), and Editor-in-Chief of theJournal of Travel Medicine. Before joining WHO, she spent nearly 30 years in academia, leading numerous clinical trials and authoring more than 380 scientific publications. Her research focuses on vaccinology, particularly dengue and other vector-borne diseases, as well as COVID-19 and influenza. She served as Principal Investigator of the EU-funded research consortia ZikaPLAN and DengueTools, advancing global preparedness for emerging infectious diseases.
