Name: Mfanelo Sobekwa

Dr Mfanelo Sobekwa is a Palliative Medicine physician, academic, and researcher at the Division of Palliative Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) and is part of the leadership at the Wits Centre for Palliative Care. He is particularly interested in how faith, resilience, and meaning influence the experience of serious illness, especially in African contexts. He serves as one of the directors for Christian Medical Fellowship South Africa, ICMDA’s Southern Africa regional representative and as a Saline Process Multiplying Trainer & cluster coordinator for Sub-Saharan Africa, amongst other responsibilities. He lives in South Africa with his wife, Ana.
