Omar Djoeandy
Omar, ethnically Chinese and born in Indonesia, migrated to Australia at age ten. He attained a Medical degree (UNSW, Australia, 1984) and a Master of Divinity (Africa International University, Kenya, 1990). His career includes medical practice in Sydney and Nairobi and Associate Pastor at Nairobi Chapel during its growth from 800 to 2,000 people. As National Director of SIM (Serving in Mission Australia, 2004–2019), he led with courage, vision and action, helping churches to send more missionaries. In 2020, he published Redefining Success According to Jesus. Omar is married to Kay, a counsellor, and they have three adult children
