- Title: Building God's Kingdom amongst the Broken
- Location: TBA
- The biblical revelation of healing and restoration emerges as the primary purpose of God for the world, and reconciliation with God is a fundamental part of healing and restoration. Through the work of Christ, the Prince of Peace, on the Cross, God has opened a door for the whole creation including human beings to reconciliation with God. God calls Christian medical professionals to be His instrument sharing the Gospel of reconciliation with those who suffer from sickness, injustice, oppression, poverty, and slander in the ruins and broken walls because these are major concerns of God. At the ICMDA World Congress in 2026, God’s divine calling that the Gospel brings hope of reconciling salvation and healing by the ongoing work of the reconciling Healer through Christian medical professionals should be acknowledged with the implication that healing is an indispensable part of God’s global mission

- Title: How to Prepare for the Revolutionary Changes in Medical Mission
- Location: TBA
- Preparing for the revolutionary changes in Medical Mission:Following the example of our Lord, ministries of healing have always been an integral part of the Church’s mission. The 19th century model of mission located medical mission both as an expression of compassion and of civilisation. The missionary was the central human agent of mission, bringing knowledge, technique and resources. Whilst much has changed, that old model continues to be shape our assumptions and practices of mission. In this session, we will explore how changing contexts are driving change in the way we conceive and practice mission and its implications for the diverse ministries of medical mission.

- Title: Telemedicine and its Ethical Challenges
- Location: TBA
- Medicine has witnessed remarkable progress over the past century, surpassing the expectations of society. Despite this, global access to quality healthcare remains a significant challenge. Telemedicine, particularly video consultations, has emerged as a powerful solution, bridging the gap between patients and healthcare providers. This transformative technology enhances accessibility, convenience, and continuity of care, benefiting both patients and professionals. However, it also presents challenges such as infrastructure limitations, digital literacy, and regulatory concerns. Addressing these issues will be essential to realizing the full potential of telemedicine as an equitable, efficient, and sustainable mode of healthcare delivery worldwide.

- Title: Revolutionizing compassionate patient care in low-resource settings through digital systems
- Location: TBA
- Revolutionizing compassionate patient care in low-resource settings through digital systems-sharing an Indian experience of Hebron Home health and telemedicine services. As private and corporate healthcare costs keep rising, we in India are developing new ways to make medical care affordable and to share the gospel. Our model combines healthcare, and Christian mission through telemedicine kiosks and home-based health services. Each kiosk is run by trained missionary technicians using digital diagnostic tools (e.g. Bluetooth Stethoscope, Digital ECG), AI support, electronic health records, and a network of Christian specialist doctors. We also provide care equipment for elderly and terminally ill patients. These kiosks create caring relationships with people, showing Christ’s compassion in practical ways. The model is low-cost, financially sustainable, and effective for chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, asthma/COPD, mental health and heart problems.

- Title: Good Governance for Christian Organizations: identifying authority and accountability in servant leadership
- Location: TBA
- In this paper we will look at how Christian organisations run themselves. Good governance is central to a theology of God’s Kingdom coming to earth as it is in heaven. Christian leaders are set apart to serve the body of Christ and are accountable to that body. Leaders form committees, or boards that are set apart to set the goals and vision of the organisation and to develop strategies to achieve their goals. This discussion will explore how authority is exercised and how the leaders are accountable to God, to each other and to those they serve. I will use the ICMDA as a case study about how these issues are addressed.

- Title: Biblical Views about National Conflicts and War
- Location: TBA
- National conflicts and wars are inevitable in any given time before the Lord’s return. The Lord has talked about them: “You will hear of wars and rumours of wars…Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (Matt 24:6,7). The important question in times of national conflicts and wars is: What role can we play as Christians in such times? Times of conflict and civil wars might be an opportunity for the church to shine and witness for Christ. The Bible acknowledges the reality of war in a fallen world and provides strong ethical teachings that point toward peace, justice, and reconciliation. Alex was born and lived in circumstances of national conflicts and wars all his live and will share his perspective on this topic.

- Title: When helping hurts, avoiding burnout while serving the needy world
- Location: TBA
- Compassionate service is central to ministry, yet prolonged exposure to human suffering without adequate support can lead to emotional, mental, and spiritual exhaustion—commonly known as burnout. Ministry leaders and caregivers are particularly vulnerable, often neglecting personal well-being in the pursuit of helping others. Burnout diminishes effectiveness, joy, and long-term sustainability in service. This session explores the dynamics of compassion fatigue, emphasizes the importance of healthy boundaries, spiritual practices, and rest, and encourages a return to Christ as the ultimate source of renewal. True, lasting service flows not from self-effort alone, but from being continually rooted in God’s presence and grace.

Using the Mary and Martha story, this session explores a contemplative leadership framework where presence precedes performance. We will examine the prevalence and drivers of burnout, then reimagine resilience through prayer, pausing, and attentiveness to God’s presence. By integrating Mary’s posture of listening with Martha’s active service, physicians can cultivate life-giving rhythms that protect the soul, strengthen teams, and sustain long-term mission. Participants will discover how contemplative action—rooted in discernment rather than frenzy—forms resilient physicians for God’s Kingdom work among the wounded.

War is no longer a rare event—it is a reality we live in. The time of peace is behind us. - Title: Advantages and Disadvantages of Short-term Missions
- Location: TBA
- To God's glory, I rejoice to say that even at present, a myriad of short-term medical missions are taking place. Recent statistics estimate that over 1.5 million people from the United States have participated in these missions and spent over 2 billion dollars annually (From South Korea, over 100,000 people have participated and spent over 160 billion won annually). Undeniably much of these short-term efforts have played vital roles and born much fruit so far. However, these short-term missions were not without their shortcomings. You may ask why can these short-term medical missions for whatever purposes (research, training and education, medical support, crisis relief, ministry, and church development) not suffice in being the ideal mission strategy? Foremost, multiple short-term missions are not equivalent to a long-term mission. Coming from the perspective of hosting more than 100 short-term mission teams while serving in Albania, I can say that there are major pitfalls. I kept detailed records of the aforementioned missions and their shortcomings in my book titled, "Finding a New Paradigm for Short-term Mission". By referencing these records, I sincerely hope that we as Christians will better understand the paradigm shift and effectively advance to a new chapter of mission work that overcomes the challenges and promotes the strengths of the modern-day missions.

- Title: Navigating the changing tides in medical mission
- Location: TBA
- Our vision is "a Christian witness through doctors and dentists in every community, in every nation.” To achieve this, we will look at emerging trends. We have much to thank God for in Western medical missions over the past two centuries, but our efforts have been driven primarily by individual medical professionals. We will explore ways of building trusting partnerships, including relationships with churches and non-medical believers. We will examine the concept of community and how to integrate proclamation, justice, and compassion. Rather than just responding to need, this session will highlight the importance of a Kingdom-oriented vision based on the gospel.

- Location: TBA
- Nigeria is the most populous black nation in the World, located in West Africa, with English as its official language, despite having over 400 ethnic groups. Nigeria is blessed with a diversity of Churches. The Nigerian Church is facing intense persecution, and this has been on the news most recently. Over 19,000 churches have been destroyed and over 125,000 Christians killed since 2009. Christians, including clergy and congregants, are abducted and only released on ransom or killed! Several Christian-dominated communities have been displaced, exacerbating the crisis. We pray that the Lord will awaken the Church in Nigeria to live as salt and light in the midst of persecution.

- Title: Balance between Medical Practice and Family Life
- Location: TBA
- We are all very engaged avec very busy people serving our patient with compassion, serving our community, serving faithfully our medical fellowship, and something serving in the local church. The risk of all this commitment is to neglect our home when we are married or refuse to consider building a family to be free of any charge. Marriage is not an obstacle for the service of the kingdom, but the curriculum of GOD to our ultimate accomplishment and the means for fecundation, potentialization, and support for a better service. Building a strong family is not just an option, but a command of GOD to spread His image on the hearth. Family is the first cell of the society. As our body when all the cells worked well, the body is healthy but when only one cell is in disorder all the body is affected. In the same way if our family structure is broken, we will have broken society, but with strong families we will have healthier society with less problem we are trying to face with the risk of neglecting our homes. This workshop purpose is to give some keys to insides to help having a balance in our family and other engagements of life.

Scripture reveals that the indicator of mission is reaching all people groups (ethne) with the Good News—then the end will come (Matthew 24:14). However, UUPGs still lack access to the Gospel, and therefore cannot yet believe in the Lord Jesus, praise Him, and be saved (Romans 10:13-14).
At the ICMDA World Congress in 2026, God’s divine calling that the Gospel brings hope of reconciling salvation and healing by the ongoing work of the reconciling Healer through Christian medical professionals should be acknowledged with the implication that healing is an indispensable part of God’s global mission.

- Title: The science and spirituality of addiction care.
- Location: TBA
- There are more than one science and one spirituality in clinical practice. We see snippets of a greater reality beyond us, and we see aspects of this reality through multiple lenses. Clinical practice itself is based on a multiplicity of different sciences including but not limited to neuroscience, psychology, sociology, epidemiology, nosology and public health. Beyond the sciences we have philosophical, ethical, and aesthetic dimensions lurking behind our scientific perceptions. Central to clinical practice is the individual patient’s history and its analysis. This calls for hermeneutics, for we hear about what is happening through the lens of the patient’s beliefs about what is happening and the therapist’s perception of the patient’s beliefs. We interpret addiction through two key questions: what is the taking of addictive substances and why are addictive substances taken. For the first I will look at Thorley’s domains of substance use and for the second I will look at a number of models of addictive behaviour. Spirituality is an important dimension of recovery, and we will explore a number of ways these dimensions can be used in clinical care.

- Title: How and when to love and reconcile with your enemy during or after the war?
- Location: TBA
- Role of Christian Medical Professionals for Victims in War During wartime, medicine moves to the frontlines. The number of wounded and hospitalized patients increases significantly compared to peacetime. All of them require urgent and compassionate care. Christian medical professionals are uniquely positioned to combine high-quality care with spiritual support, often becoming a light in the darkest moments. Their presence reflects Christ’s compassion and brings hope where it is desperately needed. 2. A Christian Approach to Current Conflicts and War Jesus was always present where the need was greatest. In the same way, we are called to be there—healing, supporting, and reconciling. We are not to flee from war but to seek where we can bring help. Each specialist, if willing, can use their gifts in the best possible way, often saving lives. War is no longer a rare event—it is a reality we live in. The time of peace is behind us. We must understand our role: whether to support the military, work in hospitals, or enter uncertain gray zones. We must ask: should we bear arms, join the army, or evacuate and save our families? 3. How and When to Love and Reconcile with Your Enemy This may be the hardest question. Jesus teaches us to love our enemies—but what if they are trying to kill us? Should we forgive them, respond with passive aggression, or ignore them? Just like Jews had to decide how to relate to Germans during WWII, now Ukrainians face similar questions toward Russians during this war. Love and forgiveness, or distance and silence? These questions have no simple answers, but we will search for them in this talk.

The ethical questions I came across as a Christian physician aroused my interest in politics.I feel as both of my callings, in medicine and in politics share the same end goal. To help, serve and love other people through my work. In these fields I have worked towards protecting the most vulnerable, from conception to natural death. It is impossible to separate your conscience from your work. In recent years, I have faced legal challenges for simply expressing Biblical beliefs, publicly and respectfully. - In many low-resourced settings, about 80% of patients are seen at Primary Healthcare level. Most of the Primary Healthcare Centres in these settings suffer a host of challenges the most common are under staffing, lack of sufficient skilled healthcare cadres, lack of or not enough essential drugs and lab reagents, poor payment of staff and others. This ends up in patients not receiving the right and dignified treatment and care they deserve. Setting up a Christian family medicine practice in such a setting is therefore a call to set up a modestly well-equipped facility where patients receive better treatment and where they are served with love, compassion and dignity.

- Title: Motivating people to change their health habits
- Location: TBA
- Angel draws on 40 years of personal ministry experience to share practical examples of the positive energy that inspires people to change their health habits. As the saying goes, "God helps those who help themselves!" The biblical authors (note) all mentioned this positive energy and found new ways out of adversity. We can begin by setting clear goals, making small changes, providing positive reinforcement, establishing a support system, and using incentives. It's important to make the change process easy, fun, and sustainable. Because the health promotion and service we engage in truly glorify God and benefit others.

- Title: Why does God Allow Sickness and Suffering?
- Location: TBA
- As healthcare practitioners we cannot avoid the emotional reality of the human suffering with which we are surrounded, and the longer the live, the more we are exposed to suffering in our own lives and those of our loved ones. Suffering is a mystery which we can never fully comprehend, but it takes us deep into the heart of the Triune God. Human suffering will not be abolished in this age, but by the grace and power of God it can in some sense be redeemed, and as carers we can have the privilege of being part of that process.

- Title: Medical Practice and Injustice
- Location: TBA
- Justice is one of the four foundational pillars of medical ethics, alongside Autonomy, Beneficence, and Non-Maleficence. Justice in medical ethics refers to the fair, equitable, and impartial treatment of all individuals and the just distribution of healthcare resources. Injustice in medical practice manifests as disparities in treatment, access, and outcomes based on factors such as race, gender, socioeconomic status, or disability. Conflict of interest and corruption are recognized as significant contributors to medical injustice. Financial or institutional conflicts can undermine patient care and the integrity of the profession, while corruption creates barriers to access and exacerbates inequities. In Korea, there was a big issue of medical ethics in Korea before. The KABA surgery") had faced challenges primarily due to technical complexity, variability in outcomes. Conflict of interest and patient safety issues are inadequately addressed in this context. Unethical practices—including discrimination, concealment of errors, substance impairment, confidentiality violations, inappropriate behavior, and failure to obtain informed consent—directly harm patients, erode trust, and perpetuate health disparities. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical field is continuously expanding. AI is expected to address shortages of human and material resources in healthcare and bring innovation to the areas of diagnosis and treatment. However, ethical concerns about AI exist due to the deep learning methodology and its nature.

- Title: Suicide Rate among Gen-Z
- Location: TBA
- Suicide among Generation Z has become an alarming public health concern, reflecting complex interactions between biological vulnerability, psychological distress, social fragmentation, and cultural change. Drawing on clinical experience as a psychiatrist within the UK’s civil and criminal justice systems, this presentation will explore the multifactorial contributors to suicidality in young people, including trauma, identity confusion, digital influences, and loss of meaning. Emphasis will be placed on early identification, management, and the role of relational and spiritual support in prevention and recovery. Integrating evidence-based psychiatric practice with a holistic understanding of personhood and hope, the session seeks to consider how Christian clinicians can engage compassionately and effectively with this growing crisis, contributing to the theme of ‘Building God’s Kingdom amongst the Broken.’

- Title: Developing Equal Partnerships for Cross-Cultural Medical Mission (CCMM)
- Location: TBA
- In July 2025, a consultation facilitated by CMF UK, Changing Times, Changing Approaches (CTCA) agreed that the role of Christian healthcare professionals in CCMM is not about repeating the past but about listening, repenting, and re-imagining. This session, led by Dr Philip Finny (EMFI) and Dr Simon Clift (CMF UK), invites participants to reflect on three key themes which emerged the consultation: reshaping mission language to free it from colonial baggage encouraging the global church in Christ’s healing ministry; embracing polycentric mission that empowers local leadership and shared responsibility; and fostering sustainability and self-reliance to strengthen healthcare amidst funding crises and workforce shortages.

- Location: TBA
- Expression of Tentmaker comes from Apostle Paul. He deliberately choose the different way of his finances, he decided do not take support from the church but by working and, namely, making tents to earn money. Today the tentmaker term is used for anyone who seeks to serve Our Lord through working or studying in another culture. Christians in many skills, trades, businesses, and professions, can often go to places where traditional church planters and evangelists may not. God very often uses people in regular jobs and businesses to advance his kingdom and fulfil his Great Commission.

- Title: Finding Strategic Direction for Mission Hospitals
- Location: TBA
- Finding a strategic direction for mission hospitals is critical for their survival. Some of the reasons are the difficulty in recruitment of qualified professionals, decline in access to capital, and increasing availability of alternate providers. Since mission hospitals across the globe have different issues facing them, this will be an opportunity to learn from one another and network with each other to find a common voice. This will be an interactive brainstorming session to examine mainly 3 issues: 1. What is the role/purpose of mission hospitals in a changing context? 2. How can we work together to inspire and recruit professionals? 3. What are some of the innovative ways to raise capital funding?

- Title: Partnership with Local Government for Common Good
- Location: TBA
- If society is broken, at what level is it broken? The brokenness reported in the media is the tip of the iceberg under which are the broken building blocks of society - broken homes and broken families. What can governments do to access and restore these basic building blocks of society? Can they come into homes and fix them? They can’t…but in most societies, primary healthcare services are a vehicle which can bring carers into the living environment of potentially millions of people. If those primary health care workers are believers, they can carry not only basic primary healthcare but also spiritual healthcare with them, right into the home environment. The WHO has recognized the church as a key resource for partnership in raising the health status of communities1. Is the church embracing this invitation? This workshop will explore the potential of partnerships between local government, healthcare and the church, towards biblically based community transformation.

- Location: TBA
- Global health as an academic discipline has grown in many institutions of higher learning over the past 10 years in many nations. In addition, whole person care has become popular in response to depersonalized and reductionist tendencies in modern healthcare. Analyzing these trends, we will discuss the Judeo-Christian origins of both global public health and whole person care, and see how we all might move forward these agendas collaboratively and publicly and express the Christian distinctives so that Christ is magnified as Healer.

- Title: Secondary Trauma, Compassion Fatigue and Resilience
- Location: TBA
- Compassion is a powerful, God-given response to human suffering—an emotional drive to help those in need. Yet, for those who continually care for the wounded, there is a hidden cost: compassion fatigue, burnout, and even secondary trauma. The very act of helping can deplete our emotional and spiritual reserves, leaving us exhausted, disillusioned, and questioning our capacity to continue. As we serve in a broken world, we must understand the limits of compassion—not to withdraw, but to wisely care for others without losing ourselves. This session explores how to recognize fatigue, set healthy boundaries, and sustain joy in serving.

At the ICMDA World Congress in 2026, God’s divine calling that the Gospel brings hope of reconciling salvation and healing by the ongoing work of the reconciling Healer through Christian medical professionals should be acknowledged with the implication that healing is an indispensable part of God’s global mission.

- Title: Confronting the secular ethics agenda
- Location: TBA
- Secular forces are actively trying to promote a worldview that is not only unbiblical but also anti-biblical, as it aims to overthrow biblical values and replace them with principles that oppose the Word of God. Our Lord Jesus Christ calls Christians to be salt and light in the world, and this session will elaborate on how Christians can fulfill that mandate by advocating for Biblical truth in love. The session will focus on protecting the vulnerable from abortion, transgender ideology, and premature death from assisted suicide or euthanasia.
